What is it?

Lesson observation is a key skill, and developing efficient and effective practices in order to objectively evaluate teaching and its impact on learning is a vital part of raising achievement.  Tribal has produced a brand new range of DVDs which feature realistic, natural footage of teaching and learning, together with staff interviews, examples of lesson plans and pupil work.  Each DVD pack is supplied with detailed guidance notes which enable the footage to be used for training purposes.  Specific ‘pause points’ on the DVDs have been identified by experienced consultants, who have created focused questions that can prompt discussion and reflection.

What are the benefits?

  • Shares best practice in undertaking lesson observations and learning walks
  • Supports staff to judge lessons consistently and in line with the current inspection framework
  • Develops staff confidence in lesson observation and feedback
